Our flagship yarn, the name is both an homage to our first offering and that incredible feeling of first tracks in Vermont snow. Whether your persuasion is boots, skis, or paws, this yarn is crafted to keep you warm, dry, and out there longer.

This is a 2-ply DK weight blend of 50% Black Fern Farm Vermont alpaca and 50% Western Targhee wool. The blend synchronizes the loft and warmth of alpaca with the structure and memory of this soft wool. Each hank weighs 2 oz and is approximately 160 yards. It is milled locally in Putney, Vermont.

This yarn was crafted as we were moving the farm to our new home in Washington. It was a time of massive transition and growth for us and this yarn represents everything we hoped to garner from this shift in our lives. It is a beautiful manifestation of potential, positive, and creativity, and reflects the full beauty of both animals’ fiber properties.

This is a 3-ply worsted weight blend of 50% Black Fern Farm Vermont alpaca and 50% NY State Merino wool. This is a super squishy, balanced yarn, perfect for sweaters, scarves, and even heavier socks for those cold Vermont nights. Each hank weighs 4 oz and is approximately 180 yards. It is milled locally in Berlin, Vermont.
